FAA Approved BATD Simulator

Available for CFC members to use at no charge!

The FAA Approved Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) is a great way to keep your skills sharp and develop critical instrument flying skills.

A BATD may be used in conjuction with an authorized flight instructor to log Dual Instruction time as described in FAA Advisory Circular 61-136B. The club’s BATD allows multiple complex training scenarios to be simulated in the same session. The flight recording function allows your lessons to be quickly debriefed with an instructor.

Training time obtained in a BATD can be credited towards certificates, ratings, and currency, up to the limits listed below.

Private Pilot Up to 2.5 hrs of training in a BATD with an authorized flight instructor can be credited towards your private pilot certificate. FAR 61.109(k)(1)
